It looks like Lewis was told to slow down, indicating to Trulli that he could go past him under the safety car. Trulli, had been in front of Lewis as the safety car came out, but ran over a corner and fell behind Lewis. It would be perfectly reasonable for Trulli to assume that Lewis was giving him his place back, no overtaking under safety car after all. Trulli then had his 3rd taken off him and slapped with a 25sec penalty. Lewis of course acted all innocent at the hearing, stated that there was no order to slow down, *BUT HE WAS LYING....* A voice recording of his team manager, David Ryan, telling him to slow down (in the hope that Trulli would get the penalty) came to the media. So the FIA, now pissed at Mclaren antics, disqualified Lewis from the Australian GP. *Brilliant.*
So apparently Hamilton slips up into third as Trulli had apparently passed him under the safety car. I thought Lewis and Trulli both drove great races. I'm not really a fan of Lewis, but he is a solid driver. The only thing that sits uneasily is the fact that he is always getting into controversy under the safety car. This is mostly down to my prejudiced against Lewis. He is growing on me though. Both Trulli and Hamilton started at the back of the pack, both worked their way to the front (ok helped by Vettel & Kubica) but Lewis gets third, and Trulli is robbed of all points. Tis unlucky.
Jensen, Rubens, Trulli, Three of the classiest lads on the podium. Huge congratulations to them all, The ex-honda lads really deserve it and trulli who started in the pits is all class. I really couldn’t be happier with the result….
But really it is such a great event to see Rubens and Jenses on top, two guy who where considered past it, in skill, age, and almost had the F1 careers come to an end when honda pulled out. The lads, team, and victories are all down to one man. He is “THE Ross Brawn” Engineering Jedi!
Who will win the title?
I’m torn between Kimi and Massa. I know Kubica could be in the hunt, and I like him a lot, he’s a future champion. I just feel that the heartbreak dealt to Massa last year, and the grit and determination to step up to being the No1 Fez driver, would make him a worthy champion for this year.As if he has matured nicely into the role of future champion. I can’t help feeling though that Kimi, with his job on the line, will snap out of the slump he has been in and return to the devastating form that we all know he has.
That said though, Ideally, Adrian Newey will have figured out WTF he is doing with the red bull cars putting my heroes; Webber and Vettel, in contention.
(as I say “ideally”)
